I would not book this hotel through TripAdvisor again. The hotel itself is very nice with a friendly staff however, the price I paid through TripAdvisor wound up being $150 more for a two night stay then the actual invoice I received from the hotel immediately after booking. When I called TripAdvisor to question this they said there was nothing they can do and the extra charges were for the added benefits of booking through them (none of which anyone can tell me what those benefits were). The hotel also told me that there was nothing they can do as they receive pmt from Trip Advisor. Very disappointing experience but the hotel overall was clean, recently updated and in a great location. If I stay there again, I will not be booking through TripAdvisor.

In the area to visit relatives and found this gem on trip advisor. I wanted beach view and since it is off season I could afford it! Great room...small studio apartment really and steps from the beach. The best part...lying in bed drinking coffee listening to the waves and watching the sunrise... can't beat that! We spent the afternoon in the game room playing cards and dominoes. Walked and sat at the beach whenever we wanted. Small pool but nice pool area. I saw some reviews complain about no balcony... correct..no balcony but this is listed front and center on the website...huge picture windows. No free breakfast but coffee in the lobby...and you have fridge, microwave and coffee in your room! I would stay here every time I'm in the area and my only regret is I likely can't afford it except for the off-season.

The only thing it has going for it is the beach; hard to tell because the windows are so crusted and occluded from lack of cleaning. It’s also filthy; had to wipe off my feet before getting into bed because the floor was so dirty. The bathroom is really disgusting, mold and a dirty shower, broken tiles and shower door. Towels are threadbare, beach towels are worse. Cheap and worn out furniture and lumpy mattress. I’d pick somewhere else for sure next time!

Furnishings are extremely worn (water damage, chipped paint, corrision etc.), the unit was dirty (floors not vacuumed (sand), extremely soiled windows obscuring ocean view, mold in bathroom etc.), kitchen and bathroom poorly provisioned, towels completely worn out, bathroom fan very loud. Ants in the bathroom (check under the cabinet) and more.

Though unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip last minute, the staff at this hotel were exceptional. They called to check up on me when I did not arrive on time, they were attentive, and they helped me reschedule my trip. I’m eternally grateful! I look forward to coming again and meeting these wonderful people.

The Surf Club Oceanfront Dewey is absolutely breath taking! Being able to see the ocean and dolphins from your room, even when the weather is not "beach weather" makes the stay even better! Rooms are spacious and very clean! Owners and staff are amazing!
